The Proper Diet for a Flat Stomach

If you’re in the market for a flat firm stomach that would turn heads whenever you lift your shirt, a good diet is a must. You cannot get the perfect stomach without proper nutrition. For the best results, you will need a combination of a diet for a flat stomach and cardio exercises, because you will need to lose the abdominal fat that’s hiding those muscles that you want to highlight.

Discover the truth about how to really get six pack abs

When people hear the word diet, they automatically give up on their dreams of getting the perfect mid-section. The word diet brings up a lot of fears in some people because they think of a restrictive and a strict eating regimen. Fortunately, I’m here to tell you that — that’s not true at all. You do not have to starve yourself to achieve the perfect abs; in fact, starving yourself would actually do more harm than good. A great technique that I learned from my friend Mike Geary is to create a calorie deficit, which tricks the body into burning fat for energy. In addition, you will be better off if you stay away from foods and drinks that cause bloating.

Here are some diet tips that you can utilize to get rid of those love handles:

The first tip is to eat less food more often. As I mentioned earlier, starving yourself is not good because it forces your body into survival mode. Your body will actually think it’s starving, so it will try to hold on to all of the fat for as long as possible. Therefore, the best thing to do is eat five to six small meals daily. Using this technique will keep you full throughout the day, it will also keep your blood sugar from spiking, and dropping; therefore, you will not crave sweets. Eventually you will begin see significant weight loss around your stomach as well as other parts of your body.

The second tip is to drink liberal amounts of water. Water is great because it gives the feeling of being full and it also washes all of the toxins out of your body. You should also drink herbal teas; however, do not add sugar or any other type of sweetener. In fact, there are some herbal teas that speed up metabolism, particularly the ones that contain caffeine or ginseng.

The third tip is to abstain from the simple carbohydrates that make up much of the western diet and eat more complex carbohydrates. Simple carbs are processed and offer you very little nutrition. You need to avoid chocolate (sorry ladies), cakes, cookies, juices, sodas, and puddings. While you’re abstaining from simple carbs, you should be incorporating more complex carbs into your diet, which provides more nutrients and energy. Complex carbohydrates include grains, vegetables, and fruits.

The fourth tip is to stay far away from sodium. I’m not saying to get rid of salt out of your diet, but excess salt is definitely a problem. This is because too much salt in your body causes it to retain water, which gives you that bloating feeling at times. For example, you only need about one tablespoon of salt daily. But don’t worry; you will not have to measure salt, because abstaining from all of the processed foods will put you in good standings already. Stay away from canned foods, pickled foods, and cured meats which all come loaded with sodium.

The fifth tip is to eat more fiber. Fiber is a miracle food because our bodies do not digest it. You probably want to know why it’s a miracle food if our bodies cannot utilize it. It is essential because it helps to keep you full for longer periods of time which in turn helps you to eat less. It is also helpful in relieving constipation. And because the body cannot use it, it is flushed out of the body and not stored as fat.

With a good diet for a flat stomach, you will also achieve significant weight loss. Achieving a flat stomach is not hard; all you need to do is follow the lead of someone that has already achieved success.

Yes old school push ups are very effective for burning up weight. At first they can seem daunting but you will progress fast as you master your own weight prior to moving on to a lot more advanced chest presses like the bench press.
