Stay away or limit the following foods that make you gain weight. If you must consume the following foods, please do so in moderation. Anyone trying to lose weight should eliminate them from their diet completely or at least until their weight loss goal has been met.
1) Saturated fat is a product of animal based foods such as sausages, eggs, meats, cheese, whole milk, etc.; this fat remains solid at room temperature. It contributes to obesity because it is a reserve fat, stable, and non-reactive. Therefore, unless someone engages in rigorous exercise, it will deposit under the skin usually between the muscles and abdominal cavity.
2) Fried foods should be avoided because a certain amount of the cooking oil always remains, which is loaded with calories. For instance, French fries contain five to seven times more calories than boiled or baked potatoes.
3) Refined baked goods are products that are made with refined flour as well as white sugar and they promote a sudden increase in one’s blood sugar. As a result, the body will have to produce more insulin to metabolize the sugar. However, if there is more sugar in the blood than the body can use as a result of these briskly provided carbohydrates, the insulin transforms it to fat, which can lead to weight gain and eventually obesity.
